Virtual Desktops: Mac Setup

IT Services provides a suite of virtual desktop environments, such as vLab for students and customized department environments for faculty and staff. To access your virtual desktop, install VMware Horizon Client.

  1. Download the VMware Horizon Client installer.

  2. Double-click to open the installer and click Agree.

  3. Drag the VMware Horizon Client icon to the Applications folder.

  4. Double-click the Applications folder and then double-click VMware Horizon Client. Click Open.

  5. Click Continue. If prompted, enter your Keychain password.

  6. Click New Server.

  7. Enter https://vdesk2.uark.edu as the name of the Connection Server. Click Connect.

  8. Enter your UARK username and password. Click Login.

    I am currently getting an "An SSL error occurred" warning and I cannot log on. Is the system down?

    I've been trying to connect to VLAB all day and I keep getting the "connection timed out" message. What can I do?

    When I am in VMware Horizon client and enter the name of the connection server provided, a window pops up saying untrusted server connection and that it cannot verify my connection
