Exchange: Mac Setup

Attention: Exchange email and calendars were recently migrated to the Office 365 cloud. For issues you may experience after the migration, see the troubleshooting tips.

Set up your UARK Exchange Online mailbox in Outlook 2011/Oulook 2016 or macOS Mail. To set up Exchange Online on other alternative apps, use the generic email settings.

Outlook 2011 and Outlook 2016 Setup

  1. Open Outlook. In the Welcome window, check the "make Outlook the default application for email, calendar, and contacts" box.
Note: If the Welcome window doesn't open automatically, click Tools and select Accounts.

  2. Click Add Account. Select the Exchange or Office365 account type.

  3. In the "Exchange account information" drop-down, enter your UARK email address in the Email address field.

  4. Enter your UARK username and password.

  5. Leave the "Configure automatically" box checked.

  6. Click Add Account. If prompted, enter "UA Exchange" in the Account Description field.

  7. Close the Accounts window and begin using Outlook.

macOS Mail (OS X Mail) Setup

Some Exchange features may have limited functionality in macOS Mail (OS X Mail) and iCal.

  1. Open Mail. If the Mail Setup Wizard doesn't open automatically, click Mail and select Add Account.

  2. Select Exchange and click Continue.

  3. Enter your full name, UARK email address and password. Click Continue.

  4. If prompted, enter "UA Exchange" in the Account Description field.

  5. If prompted, enter outlook.office365.com in the Server Address field. Click Continue.

  6. Review your information and click Continue.

  7. Leave Address Book and iCal checked to configure these apps for your Exchange account. Uncheck them if you do not wish to configure them at this time.

  8. Click Done.

I'm getting the following error message: "Account cannot be added. note that outlook 2011 requires exchange server 2007 sp1 rollup 4 or later." I'm not sure what the issue is. Outlook stopped connected to the exchange server so troubleshooted by restarting it, restarting the computer, and finally removing my account and trying to set it up again. No luck...
