Quotas and Server Information
This article lists servers available to UARK users.
Cavern Server
Server address: cavern.uark.edu
Quota: 200 MB
The Cavern server is used for departmental websites and MySQL. Faculty and staff can request accounts on Cavern using the online Account ID Request form. Approval from your department's web master is required before requesting a Cavern account for departmental use.
Comp Server
Server address: comp.uark.edu
Quota: 300 MB
The Comp server is used for personal websites, file storage, and statistical software. Access to Comp is automatically granted to all UARK account holders at the time of account setup.
Email Servers
Exchange Server
Server address: exchange.uark.edu
Quota: 1 GB (faculty and staff)
The Exchange server is the primary email service for UARK faculty and staff. See Faculty / Staff Email for more information.
UARK Gmail
Server address: email.uark.edu
Quota: 25 GB (students)
UARK Gmail is the primary student email service and is hosted on Google servers. See Student Email for more information.
Mail Server
Server address: mail.uark.edu
Quota:
- Students and Staff, 300 MB
- Faculty, 500 MB
The server mail.uark.edu is the soon-to-be-retired email service, which is accessed using UA Mail or XpressMail.
Gizmo Server
Server address: gizmo.uark.edu
Quota: 250 MB
The Gizmo server is used for departmental file shares. Departments can request space on Gizmo using the Microsoft File Services request form. An owner is identified within the department and grants access to other users in the department.
Microsoft IIS Server (www3)
Address: www3.uark.edu
The Microsoft IIS Server (www3) is used for departmental web hosting. Departmental web masters can request space using the Microsoft Web Services (IIS) Request form.
MyDocs
Server address: mydocs.uark.edu
Quota: 500 MB
MyDocs is used for personal file storage. Access to MyDocs is automatically granted to all UARK account holders at the time of account setup. To access MyDocs, go to uamail.uark.edu/mydocs or map a drive and log in with your UARK username and password. If you are on campus using a Windows workstation joined to the uark.edu Active Directory domain (for example in a General Access Computing Lab), your MyDocs space is automatically mapped to the My Documents or Documents folder.
SharePoint
Server address: sharepoint.uark.edu
Quota: 4 GB
SharePoint is a web-based application that supports collaboration by allowing departments to create team web pages, manage projects, share documents, and access information from anywhere. Departmental accounts can be requested using the SharePoint Request form.
