Getting Started
Requirements:

Outlook Web App (OWA)
Installers for Office 2010 and Office 2011 for Windows and Mac are available for departments participating in the Microsoft Campus Agreement. Others can purchase Microsoft Office at http://www.shi.com.
OWA is available at exchange.uark.edu using any web browser. In an unsupported legacy browser, the light version of OWA launches.
Before Migration
Schedule a migration appointment with the user.
Complete the Exchange Request form on the day of the migration to avoid mail delays. Include your UARK email address in the Additional Notification field to receive an alert when the account is created. For batch requests, submit an AskIT case.
If applicable, purchase or upgrade Microsoft Office (allow approx. 30 minutes for upgrade download, installation, and reboot). If your department is already participating in the Microsoft Campus Agreement, you can map a network drive to download the installers:

smb://gizmo.uark.edu/dfs
Migration
Migrating from mail.uark.edu to exchange.uark.edu requires a connection to both accounts.We recommend using Outlook for Windows or Mac. Take note for later confirmation of the mail totals in mail.uark.edu.

Connect to the exchange.uark.edu and mail.uark.edu accounts using Outlook.

Drag and drop the mail.uark.edu mail and folders onto the Exchange account mailbox.
Import Addresses
Find instructions for importing an address book from UA Mail or XpressMail into Outlook and other email applications at XpressMail: Address Book Export and Import under the header Importing your XpressMail Address Book.
Export Addresses
Outlook
Drag and drop contacts from the local folder to the new server-side Exchange contact group.
UA Mail

Open the Address Book.

Click Export.

Under Export Address Book, select the export format of the source file, for example, Comma separated values (.csv) or Tab separated values.

From the dropdown menu, select the address book. Click Export.

Click Save File. Click OK.
XpressMail

From the Inbox, click Addresses.

Click Export on the right to download a copy of the address book.

Click the link to download the file manually. Save the file as the default "Comma separated values (.csv)."
Note: Remove any quotes " " from the contact names to properly export the address book.
Post Migration Protocol for Tech Partners

Send an email to yourself from the Exchange account and reply to the test message to confirm outbound and inbound messaging is working properly

Verify the mail count and ensure the folder structure migrated properly.

Verifiy contacts and address books migrated properly.

Re-create rules and signature files.

Create a new Outlook profile for the Exchange setup. Remove the existing profile to avoid being unable to close the local copy of the old calendar and contact files.
